Starter course 6 lessons electric flying

Are you considering getting a pilot's licence? Then this step-up course is a good start. In six 40-minute lessons, you will explore your ambitions together with an instructor. During this taster course, you will fly in an electric plane.

Pipistrel Velis Electro

You will fly a Pipistrel Velis Electro, an aircraft approved in the Light Sport Aircraft category (CS-LSA). The Pipistrel is an all-electric aircraft. With a full 22 kWh battery, you can fly for about 50 minutes. Of course, we keep a margin and therefore all flying lessons last a bit shorter. In Teuge, lessons last 40 minutes. Even though electric flying is new to the general public, Pipistrel already has more than 12 years of experience in electric flying and has thus built a platform where safety is guaranteed.

Location

Your flying lesson will be flown from Teuge Airport. Teuge is located between Apeldoorn and Deventer. When you take off from Teuge, you immediately see the Veluwe below you. Paleis 't Loo, the Julianatoren, the Apenheul and the meandering IJssel river are within reach. You can also see the most beautiful castles slide by below you. Teuge is one of the busiest airports in the Netherlands for small traffic. There is plenty to see and experience. Besides motor pilots, you will also see parachutists and glider pilots there. This location also houses a cosy restaurant overlooking the runway.

Every lesson is different

In a beginner's course, there is much more time than in a single trial lesson to cover all aspects of flying. Also, in several lessons you will see how to absorb all the information, as there is quite a lot involved in flying a plane yourself! You will also see that no day is the same in terms of weather conditions, crowds at the airport and the situation in the air.

Course content

The boarding course consists of:

• 6 practical lessons of 40 minutes
• 6 landings
• logbook for recording your flight hours
• briefing before and debriefing after each lesson
• Weekend surcharges for landings are included

Flying hours

At the end of the start-up course, you will evaluate your flying lessons with the instructor. You might even go on for your pilot's licence. The flying hours of the start-up course count in full towards your licence. Depending on the type of licence, you need a legal minimum of 30 (LAPL) or 45 hours (PPL).

Total time

Flight time is 40 minutes at Teuge. Including theory, you'll quickly spend around 1.5 to 2 hours at the location per lesson. Take your time when you come to fly. You will feast your eyes on the airfield and the high-tech hangar.
