Aerobatics glider Zeeland

Are you ready for the thrill of a lifetime? Then get into the MDM-1 Fox and experience this fantastic "thrill ride". Maybe this name does not immediately tell you something, but this is a glider suitable for aerobatics.

What will you do?

You will fly along with a talented aerobatics pilot. Flying along is a bit of an understatement. We are talking about a downright "thrill ride", popularly known as stunt flying. The most bizarre rollercoaster is dwarfed by the tricks you will fly with the pilot. So this experience is not for wimps. You will fly spinning flights, spiral dives, loopings, rolls and everything else you can expect. Almost nothing is too crazy for this plane. Except flying straight through, because that's not what you come for, of course.

Location

The flying lesson is flown from Midden-Zeeland airfield. Midden-Zeeland airfield is located at Arnemuiden, near Middelburg. This small-scale airport has a grass runway and a cosy restaurant on the runway. There is always plenty of activity and you can enjoy all kinds of aircraft continuously flying to and fro. This will make you feel even more like flying.

MDM-1 Fox

You fly the MDM-1 Fox, a 2-seater glider. This plane is 14 metres long, weighs 345 kg and can fly as much as 280 km per hour. With 1 person on board, the MDM-1 Fox can handle G-forces of +9.0 to -6.0, and with 2 people on board +7.0 to -5.0. A spectacular experience!

The time has come!

You will be welcomed at the airport and start with an explanation of the flight. The pilot answers important questions in this 'briefing'. Which plane will you be flying? How will you take off? Of course, you can also ask all your questions yourself. If you bring someone along to watch you take to the air, they can of course be present at the introduction. Then you will both know what you are going to experience in the air. You don't have to pay extra for this.

This explanation always lasts about 30 minutes.

Thrill ride

Unlike many other experiences, this is not a flying lesson, but we call it a "thrill ride". What the pilot is going to let you experience is too complicated to fly yourself right away. In short, you get in and let it all come at you.

Once you are in the plane, you are pulled up by a tow plane. This is also known as a tow take-off. Take-off takes about 15 minutes. When you fly high enough, aerobatic flying begins. This part takes about 5 minutes. That's more than enough, believe us. Before your flight, you get to choose whether you want to fly mild, spicy or extra spicy. Just think about it.
