The minimum age for parachute jumping differs from location to location. Some parachute centres allow you to fly from the age of 8, others from 12.
It is often the case, however, that if the minimum age is a little higher, it is not a very hard limit. The minimum age is kept more to ensure that the child is willing to take the plunge. So often it can be done from the age of 11.
It is true that for a tandem jump permission of the parents is needed.
There is no maximum age! You do need to be able to pull your knees up to your chest for a nice landing.
If you can't get enough of skydiving after making your tandem jump, you can take a static line course. To jump alone and without a tandem master, you have to be at least 16 years old.
