Paragliding is the most accessible form of flying. During this six-day course in France, you will learn the basics of paragliding.

Paragliding

Paragliding is perhaps the purest form of flying. Without an engine, you glide silently through the air. A surreal experience. The first few days you practise on the ground to learn a good take-off technique. When you have mastered it well, we go to different take-off spots depending on the meteorology, where you can take off from 300, 600, 900 or even 1100 metres.

Course content

This course is very suitable as a first introduction to learning to paraglide. Experience is therefore not necessary. This course includes:

• A six-day paragliding course
• Ramp training - learning to take off
• Pedagogical tandem flight
• Your first big flights - wing control and learning to land
• Theory lessons, material knowledge, meteorology, drawing up a flight plan
• Video de-briefing and analysis of your technique and progression
• Transport between take-off and landing
• The equipment you need to fly
• Insurance

At the end of the course, you will be able to fly solo under the (radio) guidance of an experienced instructor. He or she will help you from the ground with the whole flight. A very special experience that will stay with you for the rest of your life. This is the moment when many people fall in love with the sport.

Location

The 6-day course is held in France, in Val Louron (the French Pyrenees). The conditions there are excellent for beginners and advanced skiers. Together with the complete Dutch-speaking team, you will make many teaching flights. The whole week is dedicated to gliding and the weather conditions are (almost) always perfect.

The course in France is exclusive:

• travel to France and return (but chances are you can carpool)
• accommodation at the campsite (tent, caravan or motorhome)
• food and drink
• contribution camping facilities
• the ski lift if exceptionally it would be used
