What will you do?

You will fly along with a talented aerobatics pilot. Flying along is a bit of an understatement. We are talking about a downright "thrill ride", popularly known as stunt flying. The most bizarre rollercoaster is dwarfed by the tricks you will fly with the pilot. So this experience is not for wimps. You will fly spinning flights, spiral dives, loopings, rolls and everything else you can expect. Almost nothing is too crazy for this plane. Except flying straight through, because that's not what you come for, of course.

Location

You experience this thrillride in Deenethorpe, the UK. This is a fun airport for small aviation. There is always a lot to experience. You'll constantly see all kinds of aircraft flying off and on, making you even more eager to take to the air yourself. During this flight, you have a great view over the Northamptonshire countryside.

Robin R2160 Alpha Sport

The RobinR2160 Alpha Sport is a 2-seater aircraft suitable for aerobatics. The aircraft is designed by Chris Heintz and is built in New Zealand. The aircraft is perfect for learning aerobatics in. This aircraft can handle G-forces from -3G to +6G. Trust us, that's more than enough!

Theory

You start with an explanation of the basics of flying. The instructor answers important questions in this 'briefing'. How does a plane stay in the air? How do the pedals work? What are all the buttons and gauges for? Of course, you can also ask all your questions yourself. If you bring someone along to watch you take to the air, they can of course attend the introduction too. Then you will both know what you are going to experience in the air. You don't have to pay extra for this.

The theory part always lasts about 20 minutes, regardless of the length of time you choose for the practical part.

Practice

After the theory part, you will go to the aircraft with the instructor. First, you check together that the aircraft is ready for departure. Then you drive to the runway, this is called taxiing. Through the headphones, you can hear the instructor and the control tower. The instructor asks the control tower for permission to take off. And then that's it! The instructor flies barrel rolls, loops, steep turns and spins. If you want, the instructor then gives you control of the plane. Depending on your flying experience, how fast you pick it up and the chosen flight time, you will also start practising special manoeuvres yourself. The instructor takes over from you when you want to have a nice look outside, take photos or a short film or find out what is really possible with such a stunt plane.
